Could Subluxations Be The Answer?

What is a subluxation?Dr. Daniel David Palmer was a distinguished natural healer in Iowa at the turn of the century. He examined a deaf man and found a vertebra slightly out of position. After adjusting the vertebra the man’s hearing returned! Dr. Palmer had several other similar cases with heart problems fixed just by examining and fixing any displaced vertebra. Dr. Palmer’s discovery is now known as subluxation.

In simple terms, a subluxation is when one or more of the bones of your spine or vertebrae move out of position and create pressure on, or irritate spinal nerves. Spinal nerves are the nerves that come out from between each of the bones in your spine. This pressure or irritation on the nerves then causes malfunction and interfere with the signals traveling over those nerves, which may result in pain, dysfunction in muscle, lymphatic and organ tissue, as well as a neurological imbalance. Your nervous system controls and coordinates all the functions of your body. If you interfere with the signals traveling over nerves, parts of your body will not get the proper nerve messages and will not be able to function at 100% of their innate abilities. In other words, some part of your body will not be working properly.

Subluxations are caused by accidents, falls, sports injuries, bad posture or even emotional stress. Most people suffering from subluxations do not even know a problem exists. While not all cases are as simple or easily solved as Dr. Palmer’s it is proven that subluxations are a very serious condition thousands of people silently suffer from. Some of the main areas of the body subluxations affect are:

Joint Damage – If your spine is not aligned you may not be able to turn your head, hips or other body parts as well or as far as possible.

Nerve Damage – If there is stress on your nerves chemicals and messages that flow over the nerves may not be sent. You may feel nothing when there should be pain or vice-versa.

Overall Body Malfunction – Eventually long-standing subluxations cause your muscles, nerves, joints, ligaments and organs to show signs of fatigue. This can cause your body to be less resistant to disease and injuries.

Because subluxations are often painless, periodic chiropractic checkups are a recommended part of your routine healthcare. Correcting a small problem today can save years of pain, problems and possibly disease.
