You asked, we answer! 21 Day Purification Q & A

We are now on Day 17 of our cleanse and loving every minute of it!  Throughout the past 17 days we have been asked lots of great questions and would like to share the answers with you!

“WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A DETOX OR CLEANSE PROGRAM?”

A purification program (also know as detox or cleanse) can help you remove natural toxins from your body and help maintain a healthy body weight. Although our bodies are designed to rid themselves naturally of these toxins, it can become overburdened and result in sickness, diseases, cancer, and less severe symptoms such as stuffy head, fatigue, difficulty sleeping, digestion issues, food cravings, weight gain, reduced mental clarity and low libido.

“WILL I LOSE WEIGHT ON THE PROGRAM?”

This depends on how close you are to a healthy body weight. If weight loss is appropriate for your body, most people can expect to lose an average of 10 pounds.  The ideal weight management system is not a quick fix,-instead it is a long term commitment and this program will help you learn to make healthy choices become a habit and a way of life.

“I READ A POST ON YOUR BLOG FOR A RECIPE USING BUTTER.  IS THAT ALLOWED, OR WERE YOU GUYS CHEATING?”

Butter is great for the program and is an approved food for all 21 days! Choose organic, unsalted butter. Fats are important and are a healthy part of the program. You can also get other “healthy” fats from fish oils, olive oil, coconut oil and almond oil as well as 1/2 avocado per day!

“WHAT DO I EAT ON THE PROGRAM AND WILL I BE HUNGRY?’

One of the most important things we tell people is you should never be hungry during the cleanse. If you are hungry then you need to eat some raw veggies or make an SP Shake!

Days 1-10

Veggies- You can eat an unlimited amount. Organic is best! Your vegetable intake should be twice your fruit intake. You can roast, sautee, grill or stir fry your veggies. Have fun and be creative with seasonings.

Fruit- Fresh or frozen only, organic when possible!

Wild or brown rice or lentils- 1/2 cup per day.

SP Complete Shakes- Up to 5 per day!

Water- Drink a minimum of 8 glasses (64 ounces) of spring water each day!

Oils- You can use include coconut oil, extra-virgin olive oil, fish oil, flaxseed oil (keep refrigerated) and grape seed oil.

Days 11-21

Protein sources are added back into the program during this phase. Just remember to watch your portions. A good portion is the size of your palm, or 3 ounces of meat two times per day. Select lean meat that is organic, free range, antibiotic free and hormone free, if possible.

It is ok to have beef but we suggest most of the protein you consume be chicken or fish.

WHAT SUPPLEMENTS DO I TAKE ON THE 21 DAY PURIFICATION PROGRAM?

Days 1-7: SP Complete Shakes, SP Cleanse and SP Gastro Fiber.

Days 8-21: SP Complete Shakes, SP Gastro Fiber and SP Green Food.

WHERE WILL I FIND RECIPES FOR THE 21 DAY PURIFICATION PROGRAM?

A recipe book is emailed to you throughout each step to help you find new fun foods and stay on track.

    Are we allowed to have green tea during days 11-21?

    Yes, green tea is encouraged throughout the entire 21 days! Green tea benefits include helping with cancer, infections, high cholesterols issues, impaired immune function, cardiovascular diseases and rheumatoid arthritis. Relatively new studies have also shown that drinking green tea could help in dieting by allowing you to burn more calories! Also it can prevent tooth decay because it is an excellent agent to fight bacteria!

    Try adding some raw natural honey to your green tea as well as some freshly squeezed lime! You might also enjoy the following recipe…

    Iced Green Tea with Raw Honey
    Healthy Cold Drink that satisfies

    INGREDIENTS:
    Spring Water
    Green Tea Bags
    Limes
    Raw Honey

    Preparation: 2 Quarts
    Bring some water to boil, add in 6 individual Green Tea Bags. Let steep for 5-6 minutes until nice and rich. While still warm, add in 2 teaspoons of Organic Raw Honey. Poor into pitcher and add ice and water to fill to 2 quarts. Add 2 fresh limes, juiced to taste. Enjoy!
